
KHULNA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) - The Agrotechnology Discipline of Khulna University (KU) today held a validation workshop on its Self-Assessment Report as part of efforts to strengthen academic quality and achieve accreditation.
The workshop was held at the conference room of the university's Central Research Laboratory.
Addressing the programme as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim said the university's academic disciplines are adhering to prescribed quality standards to obtain accreditation.
He said regular self-assessment is essential for the sustainable development of academic disciplines, as it helps identify strengths, shortcomings and areas for further improvement. He also stressed the importance of greater participation by alumni and other stakeholders in updating curricula, enhancing education and research, and aligning academic programmes with international standards.
Dean of the School of Life Science Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Hossain and Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Prof. Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman spoke as special guests.
Agrotechnology Discipline Head Prof. Dr. Md. Yasin Ali chaired the workshop, while PSAC Committee member Prof. Dr. Mohammad Bashir Ahmed delivered the welcome address.
Prof. Dr. Md. Yamin Kabir presented the discipline's Self-Assessment Report, followed by discussions on future development strategies. During the open session, alumni and other stakeholders offered recommendations on improving education and research, modernising the curriculum in line with international standards, and strengthening students' professional competencies.
Associate Professor Jayanti Roy moderated the programme, which was attended by teachers, students, alumni and other stakeholders.
