Man held with gold bars worth TK  1.10  crore at Khulna Railway Station

KHULNA, July 9, 2026 (BSS) – Railway Police arrested a man from Khulna Railway Station on Thursday morning with three gold bars worth over TK 1.10crore.

The arrestee was identified as Masud Molla, 46, son of Kawsar Ali Molla of Bawoisona village under Naragati Police Station in Kalia upazila of Narail district.

Officer-in-Charge of Khulna Railway Police Ferdous Alam Khan confirmed the arrest.

According to Government Railway Police (GRP), Masud was found loitering  suspiciously in the station area around 7:45 am. Police questioned him and later searched his body and recovered three gold bars.

The market value of the seized gold bars have been estimated at TK 1.10 crore, police said.

During preliminary interrogation, Masud claimed that he had travelled from Dhaka to Khulna by train and intended to continue his journey to Narail.

A case has been filed against the accused with the railway police station in this connection, the OC said.
