Khulna to host month-long tree fair from July 11

KHULNA, July 9, 2026 (BSS) - A month-long tree fair and tree plantation campaign will begin in Khulna on July 11 with the theme "Let Bangladesh Lead 
by Planting Trees".

The inaugural ceremony will be held at 3.30 pm on Saturday at the Circuit House Ground. 

Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam is expected to attend the event as the chief guest whileDeputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat will preside over the programme.

Among the special guests will be Range DIG Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, Khulna City 
Corporation Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju, Khulna Development Authority Chairman SM Shafiqul Islam, Conservator of Forests Imran Ahmed, 
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tajul Islam and Khulna Press Club President Md. Mostafa Sarwar.

The event is being jointly organised by the Khulna District Administration and the Khulna Sundarbans West Forest Division.

A colourful procession will be brought out from the Khulna Collectorate premises before the inauguration.

The procession will march through major city roads before concluding at the fair venue.

The month-long fair will remain open to visitors daily from 9:00 am to 9pm.

A total of 62 stalls, including one by the Sundarbans West Forest Division, will showcase a wide variety of saplings and forestry-related exhibits.
