
BRAHMANBARIA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 1.43 crore during separate anti-smuggling operations along the border areas of Brahmanbaria and Cumilla.
Based on intelligence information, patrol teams of Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) conducted the operations today in areas under Akhaura, Chandida, Moinpur and Madla Border Outposts (BOPs) in Brahmanbaria and Saldanadi and Shankuchail BOPs in Cumilla, said a BGB release this afternoon.
The seized items included Indian basmati rice, fuska, cattle, sarees, hair oil of Indian Seven Oil brand and liquor.
“The estimated value of the seized goods is Tk 1,43,87,600,” the release added.
The operations were carried out under the direction and planning of Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel S M Shariful Islam.
BGB said the force has intensified intelligence surveillance and operational activities along the border in line with its commitment to ensuring border security and preventing smuggling, human trafficking, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) will continue such operations to maintain security and stability along the border, it added.
