NARSINGDI, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - A discussion and prayer meeting was held today in memory of late freedom fighter Mohammad Azmal Bhuiya who played significant role in expanding education in Hossainnagar of Belabo upazila, Narsingdi.
Shaheed Muktijoddha Najib Uddin Khan College organized prayer meeting as freedom fighter Azmal was a lifetime donor member of the college. Teachers, students, members of the governing body of the college and local dignitaries attended the event held at the at the college auditorium.
The speakers paid rich tribute to late Mohammad Azmal Bhuiya, recalling with deep respect his bravery during the Liberation War and the sacrifices he made after being wounded in the war.
Acting principal of the college Abdullah Al Mamun chaired the event which was moderated by assistant teacher Md Sazzad Hossain.
Former acting principal of the college Srimanta Lal Pal, social worker and education enthusiast Haji Md Rahmat Ali Molla, former female vice-chairman of Belabo Upazila Parishad Nazmunnahar Amena, Nazrin Haque Hena, general secretary of the Belabo organisational district unit of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, legal aid secretary Rokhsana Akter, social worker Md Mizanur Rahman and Abul Bashar, general secretary of Ward No. 5 BNP, were present.
