JAMALPUR, Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) - At least three people were killed and one injured in a road accident on the Jamalpur-Mymensingh road in the Lahirikanda area of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila this evening.

Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Robiul Islam said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus from Jamalpur collided head-on with an autorickshaw.

Fire Service personnel recovered three bodies and rescued the injured person. Later, the injured person was sent to Jamalpur General Hospital.

The death toll could rise as the rescue operation is continuing, Robiul Islam added.
