Women's gathering held in Rajshahi's Godagari

RAJSHAHI, Sept 1, 2026 (BSS) - The Rajshahi District Information Office organized a women's gathering in Godagari upazila to raise awareness about various government initiatives and benefits.

The event was held on Monday at Mahishalbari Government Primary School in the upazila, with District Information Office Director Nafeyala Nasrin attending as the chief guest.

The chief guest said around four crore families in the country will be provided with Family Cards in phases over the next four years. In the first year, 50 lakh families will receive the benefit.

According to the election manifesto of the current government, all farmers will come under the coverage of the 'Farmer Card', through which farmers will be able to easily avail themselves of various government agricultural incentives, subsidies and other benefits.

At the event, Nafeyala Nasrin emphasized the importance of providing correct information for timely and accurate registration to avail themselves of all government benefits.

Godagari Upazila Primary Education Officer Munmun Sultana presided over the gathering, while Assistant Director of the District Information Office Abdul Ahad conducted it.

Godagari Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Abu Hamid Md Waliuddin and School Managing Committee President Md Mukhlesur Rahman, along with the school's teachers, also attended the event.

Speakers at the event said the present government is committed to the welfare of the common people. They said the government is working tirelessly to implement priority programmes in line with the Prime Minister's election manifesto.

The highest priority is being given to delivering the benefits of programmes such as Family Card, Krishak Card, agricultural loan waiver, tree plantation, canal excavation and car for women to the marginalized population, they added.

At the beginning of the event, a documentary based on the government's election manifesto was screened.
