WASHINGTON, March 27, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - President Donald Trump on Thursday withdrew his nominee for US ambassador to the United Nations, citing concerns about the narrow Republican majority in Congress if Elise Stefanik gives up her place.

"I don't want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise's seat" in the House of Representatives, where the right-wing firebrand represents New York, Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
