Ukraine says three Donetsk villages recaptured from Russia

KYIV, Ukraine, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Ukrainian commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky said on Sunday that Kyiv's troops recaptured three villages in its Donetsk region that had fallen under Russian control.

"Our troops have successfully counterattacked and cleared the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Gai, and Volodymyrivka in the Donetsk region from the enemy," Syrsky said on social media.
