BAMAKO, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The United States and United Kingdom are withdrawing non-essential staff from their embassies in Mali, where a fuel blockade waged by jihadists has upturned daily life.

The State Department on Thursday ordered the US embassy's "non-emergency employees and their family members to leave Mali due to safety risks", while the British foreign office said non-essential embassy staff had "been temporarily withdrawn from Bamako".
