BAGHDAD, March 14, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - An airstrike hit a vehicle in Iraq's capital Baghdad on Saturday, killing a member of an Iran-backed group, two security sources told AFP.

"A member of the Hashed al-Shaabi was killed," one of the security sources said, referring to a former paramilitary group now integrated into the regular army, which also encompasses brigades from Iran-backed armed groups.

A Hashed al-Shaabi official told AFP the strike killed one person, saying the victim was a member of the powerful Iran-backed Kataeb Hezbollah.
