Meloni cancels Cyprus trip to visit victims of car incident: Italian agency

ROME, May 17, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Italy's prime minister on Sunday is cancelling a trip to Cyprus and will instead visit people wounded by a driver who ran through a crowded city centre in northern Italy, Italian news agency ANSA reported.

Giorgia Meloni will join President Sergio Mattarella for the visit to Modena, where eight people were injured in the incident on Saturday, ANSA said.
