Content creator Karina Kaiser passes away in Chennai

DHAKA, May 16, 2026 (BSS) - Content creator and actress Karina Kaiser has passed away while undergoing treatment in Chennai, India.

She died late Friday night while receiving treatment after being taken to Chennai for advanced medical care due to liver-related complications.

Karina Kaiser was the daughter of former popular footballer Kaiser Hamid. Her father confirmed the news of her death to the media here today.

Talking to the reporters, Kaiser Hamid said, "While antibiotics were being administered to her lungs, her blood pressure suddenly dropped significantly. The doctors made every possible effort, but in the end, they could not save her."

Following the news of her death, people from different walks of life expressed grief and condolences on social media.

Karina had been in a critical condition for several days due to liver complications. Initially, she was placed on life support at a private hospital in the capital. Later, she was flown to Chennai by air ambulance on Monday night for advanced treatment.

She had been receiving treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC) Hospital, where doctors first began treating her lung complications. Preparations for a liver transplant were also underway.

Karina Kaiser gained popularity on social media for her lively presentation style and relatable, life-oriented content. She later established herself in the over the top (OTT) and television drama industry. Alongside acting, she had also begun working as a scriptwriter.
