ICAB appoints Md. Quamruzzaman as new CEO

DHAKA, July 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has appointed Md. Quamruzzaman as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective today.

Quamruzzaman brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the banking and financial services sector to his new role, said a press release.

Prior to joining ICAB, he served as Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Bangladesh Operations. 

During his extensive career, he also held senior leadership positions at Premier Bank PLC, Bank Alfalah Limited, The Trust Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited (IDLC), and Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited.

He holds an MBA in Marketing from Royal Roads University, Canada, and M.Com. and B.Com. degrees in Marketing from the University of Dhaka.

According to ICAB, Quamruzzaman's appointment is expected to further strengthen the institute's institutional excellence, regulatory functions and member services.
