NATORE, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election in Natore-1, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul has pledged to improve the quality of life for local residents through taking various socio-economic development plans for her constituency.

“If I get people’s mandate, I will also work to free people from the culture of fear and ensure their security,” she said while sharing her plans ahead of the election in an interview with Farazi Ahmmad Rafiq Baban, Natore district correspondent of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) .

Farzana Sharmin Putul is a member of the district BNP Convening Committee as well as BNP’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Human Rights Committee, and Media Cell Committee.

BSS: What are your election promises for the voters in your constituency?

Farzana Sharmin Putul: My main election pledge is to improve the quality of life of the people. I want to create an environment where the next generation can grow as skilled human resources. I want to ensure opportunities for the youth to become self-reliant, support their families, and contribute to the national development. I will also work to provide employment opportunities for them.

She added: “In the past, a culture of fear has taken root. The administration has created a distance with the people, and police cannot work effectively. I want to break this culture through counseling and build a connection between the people and the administration. In this way, I aim to ensure public safety.”

BSS: What instructions have you given to party leaders and activists regarding compliance with the electoral code of conduct?

Farzana Sharmin Putul: The election code of conduct is not difficult; it is flexible and easy to follow. So far, none of our party leaders or workers has violated it, and they will not do so in the future. Wherever I go, I am careful to follow the electoral code, and I am urging our leaders and workers to comply fully.

BSS: What is your position on the referendum regarding the July Charter?
Farzana Sharmin Putul: Our party’s position on the July Charter is also my position. We agree with it in principle, except for some ‘notes of dissent’ submitted by our party. We want the spirit of the July mass uprising to be firmly established in Bangladesh.
BSS: What are your expectations regarding the upcoming parliamentary election?
Farzana Sharmin Putul: My father, Fazlur Rahman Patol, worked extensively as a Member of Parliament and minister from this area, and he was close to the people. I am also with the people. They will vote for me. I am confident of a hundred percent victory with a huge margin of votes, InshaAllah.

Natore-I constituency comprises two municipalities and 15 unions. There are 125 polling stations in total, with 368,276 registered voters. Among them, 183,594 are men, while 184,680 are women, and two are third-gender voters.
