DHAKA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on
Rongdhonu Group owner Rafikul Islam, his sons Mehedi Hasan Dipu and Kawser
Ahmed Apu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said it is probing allegations against the
accused of taking Taka 1,000 crore loan from Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC
through forged documents, embezzling the money, laundering the huge sum
abroad, and amassing illegal wealth.

"They may escape the country to evade justice and a travel ban should be
imposed on them immediately," it added.

Meanwhile, the same court today also imposed a travel ban on Afsar Group
owner Soma Nasrin over charges of taking a loan of around Taka 3,000 crore
from different banks and financial institutes through forgery, embezzling the
money and laundering that abroad.
