DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS) -The International Crimes Tribunal-1 today instructed the investigating agency to submit its inquiry report on the killing of MIST student Shaikh Ashhabul Yameen and 21 others on September 14 next.

The three-member tribunal headed by Justice Md Golam Murtoza Majumder passed the order when prosecutor of the tribunal Gazi M H Tamim moved for the prosecution. Other prosecutors of the tribunal including the Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam were present before the court at that time.

Out of 15 accused of the case, seven arrested accused were present before the court during the hearing.

Yameen, a fourth year student of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), was shot dead by police near Savar bus stand area during the ‘complete shutdown’ programme enforced by the anti-discrimination students movement on July 18 last year.

Local people and eyewitnesses alleged that police shot at Yameen from a point blank range and took up the body on an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). They also dragged the body of Yameen from Savar bus stand to Pakija crossing and left the body there.
