Hadi shooting: two men who helped Foysal flee to India remanded

DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today placed two persons who allegedly helped prime suspect Foysal Karim Masud flee to India ,  on a three-day remand each in the case lodged over the shooting of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. 

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam passed the order as police produced Civion Dew, 32, and Sanjay Chisim, 22, before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each.

Investigation officer, Detective Branch (DB) and Inspector Foysal Ahmed said information has been found that the two accused assisted Foysal and his associate in escaping to India illegally.

Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
 
According to the case statement, two assailants riding in a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene. Inqilab Moncho member secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.
