DHAKA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today issued arrest warrants against
41 individuals, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ex-minister
Obaidul Quader, in connection with two killings in Mohammadpur during the
July Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamshed Alam took cognizance of the charge-
sheets and set February 15 for submission of reports on executing the
warrants.

Other notable figures named include former ministers Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal,
Hasan Mahmud, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, lawmaker Sadek Khan, and leaders of the
now-banned Bangladesh Chhatra League.

The cases stem from two incidents: truck driver Hossain was shot and killed
on July 19, 2024, prompting his mother, Rina Begum, to file a case on August
31, 2024. Police later filed a charge-sheet against 34 individuals, including
Sheikh Hasina.

In a separate case, CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Sobuj was shot on August 4,
2024, dying later that day. His brother, Monir Hossain, filed the case on
September 1, 2025, and police filed a charge-sheet on November 27, 2025,
against 30 people, including Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader
