DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS)- For the first time in the country’s history, 6,000 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees are being trained in technical skills under a Skill Development Program initiated by the Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Professor Dr Asif Nazrul, Adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, shared the news in a post on his verified Facebook account today.

“This is the first time in Bangladesh’s history that 6,000 SSC examinees are being trained under a Skill Development Program,” wrote Dr Asif.

“The training is being provided free of charge at various technical training centers across the country, focusing on computer skills, graphic design, and web design.”

Dr Asif formally inaugurated the program yesterday in the presence of trainees of three training centers-Tangail Technical Training Center (TTC), Nagarpur TTC, and Kalihati TTC.

He emphasized the importance of developing a skilled workforce to succeed in the global labor market.

“Without skilled human resources, it is not possible to compete abroad. This program is a primary step toward that goal,” he said.

He added that those who perform well in the initial training would be considered for advance training and thus they could get employment opportunities in the future.
