US envoy conveys Washington's commitment to Bangladesh's democratic transformation

DHAKA, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) - Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Dhaka Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson today conveyed US administration's commitment to the ongoing democratic transformation of Bangladesh.

She conveyed it when she called on Foreign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin at foreign ministry here today, said a ministry's press release.

Jacobson said the US is committed to strengthening the Bangladesh-US relationship in the areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, development cooperation, energy security, and public health, as well as institution building and forcibly displaced Rohingyas.

Welcoming the US envoy, the Foreign Secretary reiterated the commitment of the Interim Government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus to arrange a free, fair, and credible election.

They also discussed issues relating to the Ukraine- Russia War.
