“We are determined to further develop and strengthen local government institutions and to deliver full benefits of the July Revolution to the people as they are our biggest asset,” he said.

The Chief Adviser said this in a message on the occasion of the National Local Government Day tomorrow.

“People must be engaged more with various development activities of the new Bangladesh, achieved at the cost of supreme sacrifice of the July uprising martyrs.

The Chief Adviser extended his heartfelt greetings to all members of the local government division and local government institutions and people of the country on the day.

“I firmly believe that by observing the day properly, new doors for people-friendly services will be opened,” he said.

Prof. Yunus said youths constitute a large portion of the stakeholders of the local government institutions. It’s possible to build an enlightened nation through proper reflection of their hopes and aspirations in the multidimensional development and service-oriented activities of the local government institutions, he said.

The Chief Adviser said the current interim government is committed to build a discrimination-free and corruption-free Bangladesh as dreamt by the people of Bangladesh through July uprising.
