IOM plans 3 flights in March to repatriate stranded Bangladeshis from Libya

DHAKA, March 3, 2025 (BSS) - The International Organization for Migration 
(IOM) has planned three special flights this month to repatriate stranded 
Bangladeshi nationals from Libya.

According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, a flight will depart from 
Misrata on March 12 while two more flights will operate from Tripoli on March 
19 and 26 respectively.

The embassy stated that IOM has initially scheduled these three repatriation 
flights and is working closely with the embassy to complete the necessary 
formalities, including obtaining exit visas (Khurooj Nihai) and securing 
required approvals from Libyan authorities.

IOM aims to facilitate the return of registered migrants from Tripoli and 
Misrata through these flights.
 
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli continues its efforts to 
repatriate other registered migrants from Benghazi and those newly interested 
in returning home safely and swiftly.

The embassy reassured all concerned that it is taking every possible measure 
to ensure the safe repatriation of Bangladeshi migrants and remains in 
constant communication with relevant authorities.
