CMH declares death of Magura rape victim child

DHAKA, Mar 13, 2025 (BSS) - The eight-year-old rape victim child of Magura who was being treated at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka with serious wounds caused by sexual assaults breathed her last at 1 pm today, the inter service public relations directorate (ISPR) said.

“With an heavy heart it is being informed that the child victim of the assault of Magura breathed her last at 1 pm at combined military hospital Dhaka. It was not possible to save her life despite the use of the state of art treatment facilities at CMH and maximum efforts of the specialist doctors,” the ISPR statement said.

It said the child suffered cardiac arrests thrice this morning while her condition could be stablised twice “but her heartbeat did not return during the third time (cardiac arrest)”.

The girl was admitted to the military health facility on March 8 in a critical condition.

“Bangladesh Army expresses its deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and expresses its commitment stay beside them in any necessity. Bangladesh Army seeks eternal peace of the departed soul,” the statement read.
