BNP health secy visits earthquake victims in hospitals

DHAKA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam visited Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital to see Nusrat Akter, who was seriously injured by a collapsed wall during the devastating earthquake on Friday morning.

Injured Nusrat Akter is currently in serious condition and undergoing treatment at the hospital, having sustained injuries to the right side of her head, her eye, and her right hand.

Dr. Rafiqul Islam enquired about Nusrat Akter's physical condition and requested the relevant authorities to ensure best medical treatment for her.

Principal of Sir Salimullah Medical College Professor Dr. Md. Mazahar Shahin, and Vice-Principal Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain were present at the time. 

Dr Rafiqul Islam also visited Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim, Convener of the Chatra Dal unit at Kabi Jasimuddin Hall of Dhaka University, who was admitted to a private hospital in the capital as he suffered a leg injury while running downstairs during the earthquake today. He enquired about Hamim's physical condition by talking to his doctors.
