Govt condemns DMP Commissioner's remarks over rape

DHAKA, March 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Office of the Chief Adviser today strongly condemned the remarks made by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali regarding the avoidance of the term "rape." 

"Rape is rape, whether committed against an 8-year-old or an 80-year-old. Such a heinous crime must be called by its rightful name," said a statement issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing tonight. 

The interim government will not tolerate any form of violence against any citizen of Bangladesh, the statement read.
