9-day Eid holiday begins tomorrow

DHAKA, March 27, 2025 (BSS) - Government officials and employees today have performed their duties as last day before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The government employees will enjoy a nine-day holiday from tomorrow (Friday) to April 5 (Saturday).

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated on March 31 (Monday) or April 1 (Tuesday), depending on the sighting of the moon.

This year, five days of holiday were given on the occasion of Eid. March 28 (Friday) is the holiday for Shab-e-Qadr. This time, the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday will start from March 29 (Saturday), and the five-day holiday (March 29, 30, 31 and April 1 and 2) will continue until April 2.

While the government has issued an executive order declaring April 3, a public holiday, in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Therefore, the offices will resume on April 6, following the weekly holidays on April 4 and 5.
