DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS) - After a nine-day Eid vacation, government and private offices, along with banks, financial institutions, and courts, resumed operations today.

Banking services resumed at 10:00am across the country, with transactions continuing till 4:00 PM while the stock market also opened its doors at 10:00am which will continue until 2:30 PM.

Officials and employees returning to work were seen exchanging Eid greetings with colleagues. However, a festive mood still lingered as many holidaymakers have yet to return to the capital.

Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, was celebrated across the country on March 31.

The Eid holidays began on March 28 and ended on April 5.

The government declared a five-day public holiday on the occasion. However, with the government’s executive order, the holiday period was extended till April 3.

Furthermore, the regular weekly holidays of Friday and Saturday (April 4 and 5) added to the festive break, allowing government employees to enjoy a continuous nine-day holiday.
