KHAGRACHHARI, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS)- Normalcy in public life returned in Khagrachari hill district following withdrawal of Section 144.

District administration withdrew Section 144 yesterday as an organization under the banner of Jumma Chhatra Janata called off their blockade programme, officials said.

On Saturday morning, Jumma Chhatra Janata announced withdrawal of their blockade programme through a statement on Facebook.

After the announcement Khagrachari District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner ABM Iftekharul Islam Khandaker withdrew Section 144.

Upazila Nirbahi Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Irin Akhter also withdrew Section 144 in Guimara Upazila.

After withdrawal of the blockade programme and Section 144, public life in Khagrachhari has returned to normal. All types of transports are plying as usual while all shops have opened.

Abdul Baten Mridha, officer-in-charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station, said law and order is normal. Communication has been restored while all shops opened.

However, patrolling by the police and security forces is continuing to prevent any untoward incident, he said.
