Establishment of Supreme Court secretariat making significant progress: Chief Justice

DHAKA, April 16, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today said the establishment of the Supreme Court secretariat is progressing actively.

The chief justice said these while talking to newsmen after inspecting the newly renovated facilities at both the Supreme Court's main building and Annex Building earlier this morning.

Following the inspection, the Chief Justice visited the Supreme Court Reporters' Forum room, where he commended the contributions of newsmen in establishing his judicial roadmap.

Under a pilot project, separate toilets have been constructed at two dedicated places in the Supreme Court for men, women and individuals with special needs.

The Chief Justice announced plans to expand this initiative to other courts across the country. He highlighted the project as a significant step in fulfilling social responsibility, emphasizing its humanitarian and inclusive nature, an apex court notification said.

The Chief Justice also expressed gratitude to BRAC for its role in executing the project.

BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh, Supreme Court Registrar General Dr Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Appellate Division Registrar Md Hasanuzzaman, High Court Division Registrar Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee and Special Officer Moazzem Hossain were present on the occasion, among others.
