All set to welcome CA in his maiden visit to home district Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 13, 2025 ( BSS) - All preparations are afoot by the local administration along with respective organizations as people of Chattogram are eagerly waiting to welcome Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus tomorrow (Wednesday) on his first ever visit to his home district since assuming the office.
 
Tomorrow's daylong packed itinerary begins from Chattogram port to University of Chattogram (CU) where he began his teaching career at the Department of Economics and will accomplish the journey by visiting his ancestral home at Jobra village under Fatehpur union of Hathazari upazila.

Apart from attending the 5th convocation of the university as convocation speaker, Prof. Yunus will also pay a visit to historic Jobra village from where he earned reputation for the famous microcredit concept.
 
According to CA's visit schedule, he will attend a meeting at NCT-5 premises inside Ctg port to exchange views with senior officials of port and shipping sector and representatives of various port users organizations and trade body leaders.
 
A multi-media presentation will be made at the function on existing port operations, performance, future prospects as well as on-going and proposed key installations including Bay Terminal and Matarbari Deep Sea Port, senior port officials said.
 
Prof Muhammad Yunus will go to Ctg Circuit House from port where he will unveil foundation stone of Kalurghat Bridge over the river Karnaphuli and see the progress of initiative being implemented to remove water logging problem in the city and Oxygen-Hathazari road.
 
The Chief Adviser will also hand over registered deed of Chattogram Heart Foundation hospital's land on 23 acres to the concerned authorities.

Prof. Muhammad Yunus will leave Circuit House for Chattogram University Campus to attend the 5th Convocation Ceremony to be held at CU's central play ground on Wednesday afternoon.

With handing over certificates to around 22,600 participants from 2011- 2023 academic year along with conferring degrees to 22 PhD obtainers, CU authorities will also confer De Lit degree on Prof. Yunus for his outstanding contributions to alleviating poverty through microcredit and establishing peace across the globe.
