Govt forms district level committees to observe July mass uprising

DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - The government has formed committees at the district level to observe the students-people uprising days in July-August throughout the country.

Deputy Commissioner will lead a 35-member committee in each district, according to a gazette notification issued on Thursday by Additional secretary of the Cabinet Division Md. Humayun Kabir.

Additional Deputy Commissioner will act as member secretary of the committee. 

The other members of the committee are district magistrate, police super, chief executive officer of district council, civil surgeon, deputy director of local government department,  executive engineer of public works department,  executive engineer of Roads and Highways department, deputy director of district agriculture extension department, executive engineer of local government engineering department, executive engineer of Power Development Board, district commandant of Ansar and VDP, commandant Ansar Battalion, divisional forest official,  Upazila Nirbahi Officer (All),representative from a district Sadar govt college, representative from district sadar govt mahila college, principal of district sadar private college,  principal of district sadarMadrasha, district education officer, district primary education officer, deputy director of social service department, deputy director of youth development directorate,  deputy director of Islami Foundation, district woman affairs officer,  headmaster of district secondary school, headmaster of district secondary girls school,  principal of district Kawmi Madrasha,  district cultural affairs officer,  district child affairs officer,  president of district Bar Association,  president of chamber of commerce and industry, president of district press club, two members from martyred families of July uprising (nominated by the deputy commissioner), two members from injured family of July uprising (nominated by the deputy commissioner), five district political personalities, media personalities (including a woman) nominated by the deputy commissioner. 

The district committee will mainly observe the programmes and plans taken by the executive committee to mark the days of July mass uprising from July 1 to August 5. 
The committee can co-opt member if necessary and the committee will hold meeting as per its needs.
