Tropical storm Flossie strengthens into hurricane off coast of Mexico: NHC

MEXICO CITY, July 1, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Tropical storm Flossie strengthened into a hurricane late Monday night off the southwest coast of Mexico, according to the US National Hurricane Center.

The agency said the storm was 280 kilometers (174 miles) away from the city of Manzanillo in the western Mexican state of Colima, where it was generating maximum sustained wind speeds of 120 kilometers an hour (75 mph).
