Advisers' Council discusses ongoing flood situation in two districts

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) - The recent flood and waterlogging situation, created due to heavy rains, in Feni and Noakhali districts was discussed at the meeting of Council of Advisers today.

The meeting was held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) in Tejgaon here with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

 At the meeting, advisers from the concerned ministries presented their opinions and actions regarding the flood and the measures taken to this end.

The meeting discussed the need for finalising the design of Musapur Regulator and Bamni Closure by the Ministry of Water Resources, finalising the permanent dam construction project in Feni, and opening the canals and drainage of Noakhali.

In addition, the Council was informed that the works of repairing the damaged dams, riverbank protection and water control infrastructure in these two districts are underway, with the funding of the World Bank, aiming to address disasters.

At today's meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the measures taken so far by the Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation and the local administration in the ongoing flood and waterlogging situation in the two districts.
