Bicycles distributed among 270 students in Magura

MAGURA, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS) - Bicycles and educational materials were distributed to 270 underprivileged students in the district, funded by the district council.
 
The distribution ceremony was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11 am today. A total of 270 students from 38 schools across the district received assistance under the initiative.
 
According to organizers, 150 students from government primary schools received school bags and tiffin boxes, while 90 secondary school students received bags, tiffin boxes, and shoes. In addition, 30 students were given bicycles to support their daily commute to school.
 
Deputy Commissioner Md. Ohidul Islam attended the event as the chief guest. Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdul Quader, District Council Chief Executive Officer Hasina Momtaz, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasibul Hasan, Secondary Education Officer Abdur Rahim, and Primary Education Officer Saifuzzaman Khan were present as special guests.
 
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer Hasina Momtaz said, “Just as trees produce beautiful flowers and fruits when nurtured, students will also grow into valuable assets for the nation if we take proper care of them.”
 
Deputy Commissioner Md. Ohidul Islam emphasized the importance of education, saying, “These students will one day take charge of the country. We hope they will become responsible citizens and contribute to national development through education.”
