CHANDPUR, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS) – Ninety-year-old hapless woman Putul Das is getting a new house with the overall support of Chandpur District BNP President and MP candidate Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik.
 
The initiative is being implemented by District Jubo Dal General Secretary and founding president of Clean Chandpur Advocate Nurul Amin Khan Akash.
 
On Saturday afternoon, Jubo Dal leader Akash and other local representatives visited the site at Ukil Para, Mochi Bari, where the construction of Putul’s new house is underway.
 
The initiative began after photos of the dilapidated home of the elderly woman went viral on social media, drawing the attention of BNP-nominated MP candidate Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik for Chandpur-3 (Sadar-Haimchar).
 
Upon learning of her condition, Manik instructed the District Jubo Dal General Secretary to take immediate action and rebuild the house.

Following his directive, construction work started promptly, and the new house is expected to be completed within the next two to three days.
 
Expressing her gratitude, Putul Das said “They are building a new house for us. During the rains, it was difficult to stay in the old house — the roof leaked, and water used to fall inside. With winter approaching, we will no longer have to suffer after getting this new home.”
 
District Jubo Dal General Secretary Advocate Nurul Amin Khan Akash said, “I personally witnessed the helpless condition of the 90-year-old Putul Das family. I am happy for building this house for her. Initiatives like this will inspire us to stand beside ordinary people in need.”
