DHAKA, July 13, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has praised unparallel organizational capacity of party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman saying such skill can be seen very rarely in today’s politicians.

“Tarique Rahman possesses extraordinary organizational skills which rarely seen in politicians,” he said adding, “As Madam Khaleda Zia was arrested, I’m working with him for long and I’ve witnessed his remarkable ability to connect with people in rural areas in a very short time,” he said.

Mirza Fakhrul made the remarks while unveiling the cover of a book titled “Tarique Rahman: Hope of Bangladesh” at a city hotel in Gulshan today.

BNP secretary general said, Tarique Rahman is my leader, and it's difficult for me to comment on him. People attain leadership in various ways- some through family lineage, some through their inherent qualities, and sometimes people elevate someone to a leadership position. Tarique Rahman has gained leadership through multiple avenues. He possesses unique qualities that have brought him to this position today.

Mentioning the leading quality of Tarique Rahman, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Just as Khaleda Zia never bowed down to injustice or oppression, Tarique Rahman didn’t also never surrender to anyone. For this reason, I want to emphasize that BNP cannot be easily abolished.”

After the killing of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, many believed that BNP would be abolished. But under Khaleda Zia's leadership, the party bounced back. Over the past 15 years, we have faced immense oppression and torture. But none of it has could suppress us. Instead, rising above all greed and lust, BNP leaders and activists stood united, he added.

Fakhrul also commented on recent propaganda against the BNP, stating, “The smear campaign against the BNP today is backed by a specific conspiracy.

“This conspiracy aims to destroy Bangladesh's nationalist forces and eliminate the promising leadership that Tarique Rahman represents,” he said.
BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council members Ismail Zabiullah presided over the event while Economist Dr Mahbub Ullah, Dhaka University white panel Convener Prof Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, Tarique Rahman’s adviser Mahdi Amin, and Political analyst Zahed Ur Rahman took part in the discussion.
