CHATTOGRAM, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq-e-Azam, Bir Pratik has said that sports are not just entertainment but the lifeblood of a nation.

He stressed the need for organizing various sports events with the participation of youths to keep them away from drugs, terrorism, and anti-social activities.

The adviser made the remarks as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with the Chattogram Metropolitan Sports Association at the Circuit House conference room.

Farooq-e-Azam said the Metropolitan Sports Arena is not just a playground but a hub for nurturing the aspirations of young people.

“Those who participate in sports will not only experience victory or defeat but also acquire valuable life lessons. Through sports, young people will learn patience, compassion, and dedication, which will contribute to their success in personal and social life,” he said.

He also underscored the importance of steering youths away from mobile addiction.

By actively engaging in sports, he said, young people not only improve their health but also serve as role models in society.

The adviser further emphasized the role of sports in ensuring the physical, mental, and social development of children and adolescents from marginalized communities.

He called for stronger collaboration between the government, local administration, and sports organizations to involve more youths in sports.

The meeting was attended by officials of different government departments, representatives of sports organizations, and journalists from print and electronic media.
