Govt to print, bind, supply around 5.55cr copies textbook of class IX, X

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - A government committee today recommended for approving a proposal for printing, binding and supplying of some 5,54,90,869 copies of textbooks free of cost for the students of class 9, Dakhil class 9, SSC and Dakhil vocational class 9, technical trade Class 9 and 10 for both Bangla and English versions of the 2026 academic year.

The approval came from the 41st meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase this year held virtually today, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The day's purchase committee meeting approved the proposal placed by the Secondary and Higher Education Division for printing, binding and supplying of some 5,54,90,869 copies of textbooks free of cost at class 9 and 10 level with around Taka 479.82 crore.
