NARAYANGANJ, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS)- The government today launched the country’s first ‘E-Bail Bond’ system in Narayanganj, aiming to simplify and digitalize the bail process in the judicial sector.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul inaugurated the pilot programme at a ceremony held at Narayanganj Circuit House this afternoon.

“The new system will eliminate 12 manual steps by just one click, significantly speeding up bail proceedings,” he said, adding, Narayanganj was chosen as the pilot district to symbolize freedom.

“With the introduction of the ‘E-Bail Bond’, 12 manual steps of the bail process will now end with one click. This initiative will enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in judicial services. It is a significant step toward building a new Bangladesh,” the adviser said.

He added that the system marks a new chapter in the digital transformation of the justice system, reflecting the government’s commitment to modern governance and citizen-friendly services.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb attended the event as special guest.

He said the government is determined to bring legal and administrative services to citizens’ doorsteps through technology, and the ‘E-Bail Bond’ is part of that broader effort.

“The software was developed entirely by officials of the ICT Division without any vendor dependency, which is an exceptional achievement,” he noted.

Taiyeb also proposed developing a mobile version of the application to make the service more accessible to android users, adding that the ICT Division would extend full cooperation in this regard .

Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, senior officials from the Law Ministry, local administration, police department, members of the legal community, and representatives of the media were present at the event.

The E-Bail Bond system will now allow accused persons to complete the entire bail process online—making it faster, easier, and more secure while reducing paperwork and manual intervention in the judicial process.
