ICT sets Dec 4 for indictment hearing in Rampura mass killing case

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today set December 4 for holding a hearing on charge framing in a crimes against humanity case lodged over the killing of 28 in the capital's Rampura area during the July Mass Uprising.
 
The two-member tribunal led by Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud passed the order in the presence of the two accused, Mohammad Redwanul Islam and Rafat Bin Alam. 
  
The court also appointed a state defence to defend two fugitive accused, former additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Khilgaon zone, Md Rashedul Islam and former officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station, Md Moshiur Rahman.
 
The two accused officers, who were in plainclothes, were brought to the tribunal in a specialised prison van around 10 am amid heightened security in and around the court premises.
