DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh U-17 national football team registered their second successive win in the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers, crushing Brunei by 8-0 goals in their second Group A match held at Tongliang Long Stadium, Chongqing, China today (Monday).
The first goal came early in the 13th minute when Upu sent the ball into the net after receiving a pass from Faysal on the left.
Second goal (23'):
Rifat doubled the lead for Bangladesh in the 23rd minute as he dribbled past two defenders and finished with a clean shot.
Faysal further widened the margin, scoring the third goal for Bangladesh in the 36th minute with a placing shot from close range off a pass from Riduan, while Manik made the scoreline 4-0 with a powerful shot in the 37th minute.
After the breather, Upu scored his second and the fifth goal for Bangladesh in the 49th minute, taking a pass from Riduan.
Rifat scored his second and the sixth goal for Bangladesh in the 73rd minute. Faysal took a long shot which the goalkeeper initially saved, but Rifat collected the rebound and scored his second goal of the match.
Arif made the scoreline 7-0 in the 75th minute. The ball bounced around in a crowded penalty box and Arif got possession of the ball and executed it perfectly.
Bayzit completed the winners' tally, scoring the eighth goal for Bangladesh in the 79th minute of the match.
Bangladesh created numerous chances throughout the match, with several attempts narrowly missing, including some that struck the goalpost.
Earlier, on Saturday, Bangladesh made a flying start in the tournament, crushing Timor-Leste by 5-0 goals in the opening Group A match.
Bangladesh, which has been placed in tough Group A along with hosts China, Bahrain, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste, will play their third group match against Sri Lanka on November 26, Bahrain on November 28, and meet hosts China in their ultimate group match on November 30.
Seven group champions will secure places in the 16-team finals, joining hosts Saudi Arabia and eight other nations who have already qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
