DHAKA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has sought public assistance to identify and locate a suspect involved in the attack on Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

The DMP in a statement issued today urged anyone with information about the person seen in CCTV footage, or who may locate him, to immediately inform the authorities.

Earlier, Sharif Osman Hadi, a prospective independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency, sustained critical injuries after helmet-wearing miscreants on a motorcycle fired shots at his head in the capital's Bijoynagar Box Culvert area on Friday. 

Information about the suspect can be shared through the emergency number 999, or by contacting DC Motijheel at 01320040080 and OC Paltan at 01320040132. 

The police assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential and that a reward will be provided for credible information leading to the suspect's identification or arrest. 

Investigators have initially identified a suspected individual from CCTV footage and are urgently searching for him. A massive operation has been launched across the city to apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Hadi is now receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
