US Assistant Secretary Kapur arrives in Dhaka tomorrow

DHAKA, Mar 2, 2026 (BSS) – US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs S. Paul Kapur will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday on a two-day visit aimed at strengthening strategic ties between the United States and Bangladesh.

During his visit, Assistant Secretary Kapur is scheduled to meet senior officials of the new government and business leaders, said US Embassy Spokesperson in Dhaka Poornima Rai today in a statement. 

Kapur will discuss ways to expand bilateral trade and investment, enhance security cooperation, and advance shared interests in the Indo-Pacific region, said the statement. 

Kapur was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs on October 22, 2025.

He is currently on leave from the United States Naval Postgraduate School, where he served as a professor in the Department of National Security Affairs.
