DHAKA, March 2, 2026 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) organized Iftar Mahfil this evening at Senakunja in Dhaka Cantonment, marking the holy month of Ramadan with due solemnity. 

The event was attended by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque along with the three Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, said an ISPR press release.

In his welcome address, BOA President and Chief of Army Staff, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, extended his Ramadan greetings to the distinguished guests. 

He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in advancing the country’s sports sector and sustaining its overall progress. 

Waker-Uz-Zaman also highlighted BOA’s initiative to establish a modern, international-standard sports complex in Trishal, Mymensingh, aimed at producing world-class athletes and enhancing Bangladesh’s capacity to host international competitions.

In his brief remarks, the State Minister for Youth and Sports underscored the government’s commitment and strategic plans to further develop the nation’s sports arena.

The Iftar Mahfil was attended by members of the BOA Executive Committee and General Council, officials and representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, serving and retired senior armed forces officers, presidents and general secretaries of various national sports federations, media representatives, and other invited guests.
