Govt cancels contract of DMTCL MD

DHAKA, Mar 2, 2026 (BSS) - The government has cancelled the contract of Faruk Ahmed, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the agency responsible for implementing and operating the capital's metro rail system.

The Road Transport and Highways Division issued a circular in this regard today, stating that the decision takes immediate effect.

According to the circular, the government has terminated the remaining tenure of the DMTCL managing director.
