EC urges election workers to register for postal voting

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS)- The Election Commission (EC) has sent a letter to the secretaries of various ministries and departments to encourage those wishing to vote by mail in the 13th National Parliament election and referendum to be held on February 12 to register for postal vote BD.

The letter, signed by KM Ali Newaz, Project Director of the Out of the Country Voting System Development and Implementation Project and Additional Secretary of the Election Commission, stated that in addition to expatriate voters, government employees living outside their voting areas within the country, officials and employees engaged in election duties, and persons in legal custody will be able to vote through postal ballots in the upcoming national elections and referendums.

To receive the ballot by post, these voters will have to register through the Postal Vote BD app by mentioning the correct address. 

Once the registration is completed properly, the ballot will be sent to the voter's address from the Election Commission. 

Registration will continue till December 25. For more details, they can visit Bangladesh Election Commission website (www.ecs.gov.bd).

All government employees working in all ministries, departments, agencies, directorates, and offices receiving salaries in the IBUS system and officials and employees engaged in election duties living outside their voting areas are requested to register on the Postal Vote BD app and encourage them to exercise their voting rights and to register on the Postal Vote BD mobile app.

It is mentionable so far, 344,233 expatriates have completed their registration on the Postal Vote BD app.
