DHAKA, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Commerce has appointed Commerce Ministry Deputy Secretary Mohammad Delwar Hossain as an administrator to the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners' Association (BEIOA), locally known as "Baishimas," cancelling its existing executive committee under the Trade Organizations Act, 2022.

According to an office order issued by the Ministry yesterday, the tenure of the current committee of the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners' Association expired on December 31, 2025.

The order said that due to lack of coordination within the existing board and in accordance with Section 17(1) of the Trade Organisations Act, 2022, the organisation was not being managed properly in the interest of business, industry, trade and services.

In this context, the government has dissolved the board of directors of the association and appointed Mohammad Delwar Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, as its Administrator.

As per the order, the Administrator has been directed to arrange a free and fair election within 120 days and thus hand over responsibilities to the newly-elected committee, and subsequently inform the ministry.

The office order was signed by Director General (DG) Muhammad Rehan Uddin of the Trade Organisations Wing under the Ministry of Commerce.
