PM arrives in Dinajpur to inaugurate canal excavation programme

KAHAROLE, DINAJPUR, Mar 16, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived here today to inaugurate the nationwide programme to excavate and re-excavate rivers, canals and water bodies.

The premier will open the programme by initiating the excavation of the Sahapara Canal in the Balrampur area in Kaharole upazila. 

Tarique Rahman left Dhaka this morning and arrived at Saidpur Airport at 10 am on a domestic flight.

He then arrived at the programme venue in Balrampur by road at 12:24 pm.
