Bangladesh's first hajj flight reaches Saudi Arabia

DHAKA, Apr 18, 2026 (BSS) – The first hajj flight of Bangladesh has reached Saudi Arabia with 419 pilgrims in the early hours today (local time).

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 3001 landed at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah at 4:20 am (local time) today, said a Religious Affairs Ministry press release here today.

Upon their arrival at Jeddah airport, the Bangladeshi pilgrims were welcomed by Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Md Delwar Hossain and Councilor (Hajj) Md Kamrul Islam.

The pilgrims were greeted with flowers while refreshment kits were given to them.

Among others, Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah Md Sakhawat Hossain and Assistant Seasonal Hajj Officer Md Ruhul Amin were present.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated Hajj Flight-2026 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 pm on Friday.
